I work for Praxair and it is the best job I have ever had in my 14 years of trucking. Very similar to Linde, long days/nights, work holidays and weekends, decent equipment, slip seat, etc. I am compensated very well and my wife and children are very understanding of the schedule I have to keep to work there. It's not always easy, but we try to make the best out of the time we have together. I plan on staying here for as long as I can. It is one of the top jobs in trucking IMHO.
Linde Group...not bad at all....

I work for a local company that is competitors with Praxair and Linde but we are much smaller. The work can be very hard; however, it can be very rewarding too if you love the job.

Air Liquide is another one that hauls both Co2 in tanks and tanks palatalized on flatbed trucks. They are out of Houston as well. Air Gas is one of their big competitors here in the SE.

Thanks CC....Same to you and your family. I'll be working the holiday, but took the Sunday before Christmas off so we can get together with family and celebrate that day. Hope all is well! -
Absoultely, the best driving job I have ever had. Faults, yes, but if you aint happy here then you better quit driving truck. I dont make what some of these guys on here do, but Im bringing home 1000/week normally sometimes more or less. Negatives to me are slip seating, boring LTL. Pros, 5 day schedule, home everyday, paid holidays and the dispatching is outstanding.

heycc,i have to laugh at the dog and pony show put on every so often buy the safety wheels that come out here.it just doesnt change, catered meal followed by a backslapping party and things stay the same. i finally give up and doze off sometimes. they want to adress the rollover issue. ok. we have not had a rollover in the past 6 years at our site. but if JOSE rolls his oxcart in central mexico, suddenly we need training. funny how that effects me. if ihad a rollover i would not be there for any training as i would be fired.they do not take into consideration that 98% OF THE LOADS ARE SENT OUT AT 12:00AM,can we say zarcadian rythym?its endless the as to what they force us to watch but never see how they contribute to the causes. i swear this is true.. we had a presentation on home safety, workplace safety, you know the reaching from a ladderthat kind of stuff,it wasnt 20 minutes later the boss is standing on a swivel office chair changing a light bulb.you know if they paid me double they would not get anything from me more as this is the best i can do.now we have cameras to watch us inside the truck, oh yea i forgot the guy that buys the trucks, got fired when INTERNATIONAL delivered unwittingly his new 2011 CHEVY P/U AT HIS WORK PLACE. ITS TRUE! THIS IS WHINING AT ITS BEST. REGARDS
