It really only seems logical to see companies going to this type of programs. The potential of long term savings on health care cost are huge.
The US is the fattest country in the world, we complain about health care costs while we super size our Mcfatty meal.

When I applied at Prime they asked my height and weight. 215 # 5' 11" 30%!!!! 39% is the cut off.
I want to be a "sweat pants trucker!" Get so freaking fat only sweat pants will fit me!!!
Dang sure have seen some grossly over weight jamokes out here! -
This is crazy, What if you are big boned I weigh like 215 I am 5 feet 11 1/2 inches tall
from the time I was 16 years old I was like 220 lbs and could do 50 push-ups and 120 sit-ups at once -
what the hell is "sleep apnea?" another one of those "diseases" that the drug companies made up so they could sell more drugs?
-
Maybe they're trying to cut down on the sweat pants to trucker ratio. -
Dont worry.......the next group they will target will be the smokers! Just as unhealthy, and they will come up with some study about how smoking is related or responsible for auto/truck crashes. At least we will all have health care when none of us are allowed to drive anymore!! haha
outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
My brother is a Army Helicopter Pilot. Fantastic physical shape... he even runs marathons. He was diagnosed with sleep Apnea.
He had a CPAP machine for a while... then the Army paid for him to have surgery to remove his tonsils, uvula and laser trim his airway.
He swears by the diagnosis... Since then He has more energy, feels better, blood pressure is more normal... no more heartburn.
He said if you cant afford the surgery(army paid for his), the CPAP machine is well worth it... -
BMI?
I just tested mine on that calculator and says I'm 34% at 6'3" tall and 260 lbs, it says I should way 145-190 Yeah right I'd float away! -
It makes you stop breathing while you're sleeping. That triggers a reflex that wakes you up. People with sleep apnea get woken up by it multiple times a night. Untreated, it prevents them from getting a good nights sleep which will make them tired in the daytime.
However, some doctors doing DOT physicals for companies take it to the extreme. If you fall asleep waiting for the physical, omg, you have it. (i get tired as hell waiting for things!) -
This article has some good info in it. Some of it is surprising.
