Ok going back to work for USA Truck.Worked for them previously for a year and a half.Had some abdominal surgery back in 2004.It was listed on my original application back in 2007 and was not a problem when i took my physical then. Now when i took my physical on Tuesday its a issue . The doctor doing the D O T physicals for them wants a full release from my doctor stating i am good and can lift 75 lbs and work with no restrictions.Had to drive back to Dallas to go see my pcp doctor to get a release which she gave me.Now waiting on USA truck doctor to sign off on it.Is this normal procedure?

guess so. my doctor faxed them the release yesterday.just waitin on their doctor to say that he is good with it.If they had told me ahead of time that might be a issue i would have taken a release with me to orientation with me

I really think it depends on who you go see. I went to my normal clinic and even with back surgery previously I had no issues.

lots of people looking for a free ride. an injury that could render you unable to work for a long period of time can cost a company thousands.

so they are getting way more picky

apparently so since i had this surgery in 2004. i was employed with USA from 2007-2009 and their DOT doctor had no issues with it when i took my physical with them in 2007.Now when i took their same physical thru their same DOT doctor now he needs a written release. No big deal my doctor signed my release for them yesterday.Just waiting now.

Well the saga continues. This morning my doctor called and said despite her letter she sent them giving me a full release with no restrictions now they want me to do a perfomance functionability test now.So today that will be done.Mind you i have worked for them before and this was not a issue then nor has it been a issue on any of my DOT physicals.

Yeah, they are cracking down lately.
You can go to the FMSCA website and look at all the medical stuff going on. They are trying to find solutions for everything.

    Thomas0810 Thanks this.
