It takes up to 6 months after you turn the package in.
You have to see a Endocrinologist and then a Ophthalmologist or Optometrist. Then you mail it off and after it gets lost awhile and sits in a pile, they'll review it and post you on some public register for 30 days for public comment.
Then after it sits in a pile some more and after her nails dry, she might get energetic enough to mail you the waiver. But they say 6 months on the application.

The best way to control that type 2 is with diet and excercise. It took me awhile to figure that out. It's hard to give up some stuff. But I'm finding good stuff I like that works. Like stir fry's and soups with little or no carbs. My sugar is normally 200-300.
Like today I made a beef stir fry with a bunch of vegies. I just tested my sugar... 105.
Eating what you want and taking pills/insulin won't fix the situation. You have to find the right foods. There are 500 people out there telling you different things which makes it hard to decipher.
I was at a friends house yesterday and she had a diabetic menu planner. It had waffles and syrup, all kinds of white breads and other bad stuff on it. I was like ??? Whoever made this is screwing diabetics up.

Is your blood sugar running consistent or being sporadic? -
What's an a1c level
-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycated_hemoglobin
It is a measure of blood glucose levels over time by measuring the glycated hemoglobin level. The wiki article is a good explanation.CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
i had a heart attack on 07/11.my a1c was 11.5.i had another in novenber that one was 7.2.

Normal is 5.5 -6.0
Anything above is bad. 7.0 and above is considered uncontrolled diabetes.
When I first found out, mine was like 10.8, last test was in the high 7's.
Hopefully my next lab work will be lower.
RM, my sugar is like a rollercoaster. I eat the wrong thing and it skyrockets. The there are times I start going into shock and eat something sweet and the way up it goes. I have a nurse practitioner handling me at the VA and I'm starting to wonder about her.
I've been taking Metformin 1000mg x2 a day and she added 1/4 tablet of Glibizide x2 to the mixture. I'm scared of that Glibizide as that what makes my sugar drop down in the 70's.
I told the nurse that. So after my last A1C check I get a call from VA telling me to increase the Glibizide to 1/2 tablet X2. I was ????. I won't do it.
But like I posted above I learned this past month, if I eat just meat, vegies and fruit, no medicine, I can control my sugar a whole lot better.
If my next A1C test ain't below 7.0 she is putting me on insulin. That's why I been trying this new diet thing.
I also think I figured out why I have so much problems with my back and legs. I have a fragmented disc and 2 compressed ones that we thought was the problem. Now, I'm almost convinced it's nueropathy from the diabetes and hypothyroidism. I was reading about it the other day. Those don't know, too much sugar is like a toxic in your blood and starts attacking your nerves and artery walls. It's reversable unless left untreated. That explains all the pain and cold spells I've been having.25(2)+2 Thanks this. -
One on the right and one on the left side?
My right one was 99% stopped up in March. I got lucky and caught it. I figured I have 3 years by family history the left one clogs. It was 60%. That's the one that'll need a bypass. -

Lol, okay. I thought maybe that after I posted. Good luck. I hoping to get back at it too this year. 2011 was absolutely a crappy year.
