I've been thinking about what to eat, and how to stay healthy... Thought about MRE's, but they're made for high activity, one MRE contains everything you need to survive for a day in an active lifestyle... not good for a trucker sitting down all day, especially since I can eat 2 or 3 a day. Then in "a moment of genius" I thought about Nutrisystem. I'm going to order a months supply after I change trucks, I was wondering if anyone has tried it or knows anything about it. I'll keep you posted on how it goes...

I would say it's a waste of money. However, if it is the only thing you're willing to stick to, then give it a go. It's better than just giving up, like so many do.

I prefer to just buy my veggies and chicken from WalMart as I need to. Rotisserie lemon chicken, tastes great, and usually $5 or less for a whole chicken. Just buy some glad bags, and rip all the meat off and bag it for your cooler. Saves cooler room. Same can be done for broccoli and cauliflower, and even spinach. The only thing I normally take from home is hard boiled eggs, since I can't make those myself on the road.

Thanks for the replies... I'm 6'1" and 195, I don't really need to lose any weight, but I really don want to gain any either. I'm just finishing up training, and I'll be in a company truck, so I don't have alot of options yet as far as cooking in the truck goes, and I'm not sure about company policy on inverters yet either. I figured it up and it comes out to about $3.10 a meal, not bad, if it's healthy.... This isn't a permanent thing, just something easy cheap and healthy until I get some pennies saved up for something better... And my own truck of course lol if all else fails I guess it'll be a charcoal grill tied to the catwalk for parking lot barbecues :D

Just to let ya know Thehank, I don't run an inverter for a microwave. All I use is my 300watt inverter to charge my cell and my laptop. My cooler is a plug in cooler, and it holds all the food I eat in a week, and I'm a bigger guy(5'7", 220lbs), and my cost a week is maybe $40ish. It can be done, and done cheap, without an inverter, if you're okay with cold meals during the week. If not, then planning ahead is the key, as you can still use a hotbox to warm your food in. It just takes awhile to warm it up, so that includes prep time. It's all in the planning.

    Thehank Thanks this.

I tried it. Food wasn't very tasty and their portions are a joke. Many meals require you to supply different things like bread or lettice as a example. I always felt hungry using nutri system because the portions are so small. Was told you get used to it, but I didn't.
