I got my A CDL several years back and I remember that health was a massive concern in the classes. The sedentary lifestyle combined with deep fried truck stop food creates the perfect storm of horrible nutrition and lack of exercise. This dynamic destructive duo wreaks havoc on our bodies and controls our destiny.
This is an excerpt from an article "American Crisis" from Corporate Wellness Magazine:

"Due to an unhealthy lifestyle and lack of good nutritional options while traveling, truck drivers are categorically one of the unhealthiest populations in our country. Indicative of the challenges facing this population, the average life expectancy of drivers is 61 years (Global Insight May 2005). Statistics from the National Institute of Health show that more than 50 percent of truck drivers are obese, compared to the national rate of 26.7 percent. Compared to the general population, the prevalence of diabetes is 50 percent higher and 87 percent of truck drivers have hypertension or pre-hypertension, compared to the national average of 58.3 percent (JOEM 2009). These health issues place a toll on families, impose a financial burden on employers and have created regulatory challenges for the federal government due to the related safety issues on our roads. The most important aspect of these statistics is that these conditions are preventable through modifying risk factors. Among the general adult population, 21 percent smoke, and 49 percent exercise regularly, while 54 percent of commercial drivers smoke cigarettes and only 8 percent exercise. With the proper lifestyle choices, these drivers can reduce their disease risk and increase their life expectancy and quality of life."

I just want to tell you my story. I started in truck driving a few years ago. Over the first 2 years I gained about 50 extra pounds of fat. Last April after doing an immense amount of research I came across a nutritional program that made sense to me. It worked within my values: I wanted something that was organic, not full of genetically modified foods, that didn't have all the crap in it that all the truck stops seemed to have.... I started on the nutrition plan and in 3 months I have dropped those 50 pounds of fat! I wanted to share this, because for me it has been a great blessing. Due to a back injury, I have not even been able to exercise, but I am able to walk a little.
So I replace two meals a day with the nutritional shakes, and I do a bit of walking around the rest stops. This has worked extremely well for me!

I think this would work well for most truckers, but due to all the spam and what not, I do not want to post product names and be flagged.. THIS IS NOT SPAM. I AM REAL! lol

If you wanna know what I am doing- let me know in a private message! I can help! :)

You should try to get a little more time on the forum instead of making your 1st post a pitch.

Whoa nelly. I am not trying to pitch anybody. People are hungry for a solution, they are sick and fat and tired and good nutrition given to the body can solve most things. I have been following threads on here for quite sometime, just never felt the need to open an account. Don't come on to my thread with all the negativity! I don't want to sell anybody anything. I DO want everyone to have good health and feel good and live better lives! I was sick and fat and tired all the time and I am feeling 1000% better. I want that for everyone- whether or not it is with the system I used! Love your life enough to make the changes to live better, your friends and family will thank you! ;)

Absolutely I get paid for a referral. In 4 months I have been able to replace the messily salary I was making at swift! I now get to wake up every morning next to my wife and greet my sons. Are you kidding me? It's one of the best things to happen in a long time. Sorry I didn't get back right away- I am not on here 24/7... ;)

Wow. Just wow. You guys are just too accepting, loving, caring and warm... :yes2557:"I know let's get ourselves in a health nightmare and then run off anyone who tries to get out of the situation and come back and help. That seems to make sense..."
Everyone needs help sometimes, if you don't want it from me I don't give a rats behind, but I do hope you figure out something, cause I don't wanna pay for your god dang medical bills through obamas tax...
