It's interesting to me that "old age" is not a category and would seem to fall into one of the other tracking categories our government has provided for us. It seems so.

Too many variables in old age; mainly genetics. My Mother will be 100 in December. All her sisters except 2 are still healthy. The 2 that didn't reach old age; one was murdered and one had a heart defect she was born with, but still lived until about 80. The 5 still living are all in their late 80' and 90's and have very few wrinkles; doctors say it's their genetics.

Reading that makes me tired :) as my family is also genetically marked for longevity.

Personally, I get tired just thinking of living until I'm 90ish. And I hope I go quickly by heart attack. And I think I'll have "DNR" tattooed in the middle of my chest by then.

That's a good one! My oldest child is 48 and my youngest is 7. Whew! Those good genes can make the so-called "Golden Years"....well, you understand!

From natural causes a heart attack is one of the most painful, why would you wish for a painful way out. How about going to bed and not waking up, just passing in your sleep.

God bless your mother for reaching the century mark with relatively few or no health issues. That is totally amazing and incredible. How is your father? Also, God bless your remaining 5 aunts. Condolences to the 2 aunts that have already passed on.

Sadly and unfortunately both of my parents are deceased. This month, (September 30th.), will be 6 years that my mother passed away She had heart disease and diabetes which required 4 shots of insulin daily. She was 86. My father passed away 26 years earlier due to leukemia, back in 1981, he was 59.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
