Blood clot in leg

Blood clot is an easy fix, blood thinners or balloon catheter. I'm new to driving but not medicine lol I don't see why it would be a problem if its corrected.

Piece of cake. I had a blood clot form in my leg after I broke it mountain biking. Was actually on thinners for almost three years. I'm off them now and on the road every day. The clot issue never affected me while working so it's not hard to take care of. Good luck

 

Blood clots are dangerous. I hope you are seeing a doctor.

 

What caused the clot is what I would be concerned about. An injury then no I wouldn't be concerned.

If you have high cholesterol then yes I would stay under a doctors care as it's a slowly progressive problem with your cardiovascular system. Do you smoke? Overweight? Family history? are all contributing factors to the condition of your veins and arteries. Add high cholesterol and it starts caking on them arteries including the ones in your heart.

Modern medicine is amazing to where it was ten to twenty years ago. If you haven't had one I would have a stress test done. It will reveal any circulation problems.

As far as disqualifying, no it isn't. One can return driving 3 months after bypass surgery.

I had clots in both legs involving the calf and the groin. I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago and took blood thinners for 3 yrs. I was recently diagnosed with a new clot in the left calf. I went into hospital in intensive care for 13 days last month. Had the catheter treatments. Clots are gone and am due to get released to work. While the paramedic is correct about tratment, you need to be careful on how treatment is done. Blood thinners alone may not be the answer.
