Hello again. I have an update for my weight loss journey. I met with a dietitian yesterday and found out that I am at a high risk for diabetes, stroke and heart attack. I don't have heart disease or diabetes, so I am good. The good news is that I have lost two pounds so far. I have saved a lot of money by staying away from Truck stop food and my body is getting healthier. The dietitian went over where I am deficient and found that I am not getting enough protein, good cholesterol, Vitamin D, C and K and not getting enough fiber, even though I have cut back on some bad foods. So, I bough some supplements. I have a serving guide to what I need everyday to lose weight and now have a clear goal. The biggest help in my life is my wife who is helping me stay on track and it has been working. I am very optimistic.

That's good news. I also take supplements and firmly believe in them.

Supplements are good but don't depend on them as a sole replacement. Still seek out the healthy foods. Add some beans and dark leafy greens to your diet and it will help with some of them deficiencies.
Just like a diabetic get rid of them white carbs and replace with whole wheat products. I guess if you have a dietitian they know what's best for you.
It's a challenge on the road. Good luck!281ric Thanks this. -
I'm gonna try the cereal diet. You eat a healthy cereal like Cheerios or kix or fiber one for breakfast and lunch. Then have a light supper like a skinless chicken breast and a salad. For snacks you snack on veggies or fruit as much as you want. Make sure to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water a day. So if you weigh 300 lbs you should drink 150oz of water a day theoretically. I have a hard time drinking that much water honestly. I'm gonna start this next week. I hope it works. Tired of being the big guy in the room all the time.

Any advice for a guy like me that likes no leafy greens or beans, or almost any vegetables for that matter? I don't eat anything green, other then peppers and cucumbers, the only other healthy fruits or vegetables I will eat are tomatoes, potatoes, grapes, oranges, and lemons and limes for flavoring, oh yes and corn.

Cheerios has 1g of sugar in it per serving. How is that a lot?

Per ounce, there are same products without processed sugars added
