If you look only at lists of fruits highest in vitamin C or read about the super health-promoting powers of the latest popular fruit, you might wonder if Grandma’s advice “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” still merits consideration.
Yet as research moves further into the study of the thousands of natural compounds we get from fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other plant foods, apples do shine.

Apples also have energy content equal to two cups of coffee. But the energy gained from the apple lasts longer and is certainly better for you than coffee. I always carry a bag of apples in my truck.

When I drove I also usually had a big bag of apples around. heck, I could probably eat 2 or 3 a day of them. I like to try to push the health envelope, bcuz if u like stuff that's healthy, u ought to try and eat as much as u can, until u get sick of it? I mean does that sound wrong to anyone? Eat all the healthy food in a day u can, and if ur not satisfied, or need a break, then hav ur comfort food, it's the way I do it. I eat spinach, yogurt, apples, bananas, then may hav a pizza or pasta to tide me over.
