Having your honey rub your back is sweet, but it's tough to compete with the hands of a pro. A good massage therapist can make you feel like a new person. And now research suggests massage can ease insomnia, boost immunity, prevent PMS, and more. Maybe that's why hospitals are making it a standard therapy.
"All of our surgery patients are offered the treatment -- I call it 'service with a smile' -- and it's a mandatory weekly prescription I give myself," says Mehmet C. Oz, M.D., director of the Cardiovascular Institute at New York Presbyterian Hospital--Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and a member of the board at LLuminari, a health-education company.
Our advice: Enjoy your hands-on time with your sweetie, but set aside some time for a real massage, too. Here are some feel-good reasons:

My sister is a massage therapist, and it really does work! Its not a relaxing massage like you would think, sometimes it can be kinda painful but once she is done putting your "zipper" back in line or making a muscle remember where it is supposed to be it feels GREAT! I also see a reflexologist once or twice a year for my feet and that makes me feel soooooo MUCH better.....

My Goodness!
I have serious injury scarring and still struggle daily w/ work and life in general if I let it get to me.........well I am not made of "Iron".
Thru a friend (Personal Trainer/ Pro Body Builder & owner of a successful gym) I took her recommendation and went to this Therap/Mass.............
Check for credentials and first impressions are the best....................My first session was an eye opener, a toxic tissue build-up , release valve tension and somewhat painful (in a good way, those muscles working) physically tiring and mentally exhausting feeling. I got up from the table had a craving for "Chili and a cinammon roll" (of course I did not eat those) I went home and layed down and rested. I had to take a muscle relaxer, because I knew what I was in store for.
I drank 2 gallons of water and got up several times to pee, and woke up actually refreshed more Mentally. Slept the next evening very well and was sore from a workout from the massage. I had years of tension released from me and I feel "Spiritually Refreshed". I have another appt, in 2 weeks.
I am getting my body ready for surgery (spine/lower back) ...........................I SINCERELY recommend all of you out there to have this kind of session done to yourself.........................

Look for these Credentials < N.C.T.M.B.> deep tissue, swedish, triger point..............

Now if you have never had this done...........Tell your Therp/Mass person to back off on their application of strength in their hands, which will not leave your body area, always applying pressure..........this is not for the weak and non trusting soul if you feel you have no purpose. Take care of yourself, we are all on this EARTH for choices made. Someone out there loves you and always looks forward to seeing and being with you, give them YOUR BEST.........you will feel AWESOME!

Massage is so very important to both mental and physical well-being. I am glad that it is becoming more accepted.

Much thanks for all the kind words about the benefits of massage.
The hard working men and women that drive the trucks that supply
this country the goods we all rely on, face some of the greatest
physical challenges. Long hours in one position, little time for exercise.
Erratic sleep schedules. Although massage is not a cure all, it certainly
can ease the stress and pain experienced by these very important people
Thanks again, Misklys

Contrary to popular belief.

Contrary to popular belief, massage therapy does not need to be painful to be effective. Granted there are some modalities that are very painful, and some people actually prefer this, however there are also massage techniques that are designed to get the same effect, that are much more soothing and comfortable. There is a lot of information on the web describing the different types of massage and there effect. It doesn't have to hurt to be good.
Thanks again, Misklys

I have never used one of these at a truck stop, but have heard drivers say that if you get someone that knows what they are doing that you can feel the difference for days.
