Please help: kicking the grease habbit...

I can cut out most things but every time I see a sign advertising fried grease in wax paper (read: McDonalds, KFC, Arbies exct.) I want to pull over. Most of the time I choose wisely but too often I find myself standing in line to get a slow acting heart attack for $4.99. I have cut out all sweets, no more coffee, working on portion size, drinking about a gallon of water a day. But how in the heck do I get past this fried food habit? I could go a week eating nothing but salads and the whole time all I want is some crispy chicken from KFC or a double quarter pounder.

How do I kick this addiction? I quit smoking a year ago and this seems to be about as hard but there is no patch to fall back on. I'm sure I'm not the only one going threw this. What do some of you do to keep eating healthy when your body craves greasy carbs? Is there a health food that could 'fool' me into thinking I'm getting what I crave?

Getting the right amount of protein and the right proteins may subdue your cravings. Theres also supplements on the market that claim to lower your appetite. Many of them are available at stores like GNC.

I can't offer any help, but I do have a favor to ask.

If you find a "cure" for the fast food craving, let me know PLEASE!

Now I gotta go to McDonalds. Since you mentioned a double quarter, my body's going nuts.

Unless your training to be a Body Builder............stick to your diet if it is helping you and have a CHEAT meal once a week............and make sure it is when you are not working(behind the wheel) and have some time to work it off, walking ,ect.....It is tough, fatty foods are desigined to taste good...............like scurvydog mentioned on pro/fiber foods, after awhile the cravings subside , and when you do cheat your system w/fatty foods a couple of bites and it doesn't taste as good.....hang in there....

KUDO"S for no smoking .............. how did U do that? I don't smoke anymore (quit also.....cold turkey) but I care deeply for someone who is struggling................with the cig's..................
