Ran with a Swift driver that was using one. Don't know if Swift knew or if he was using it at the time he was hired. Best bet would be to check with Swift.

I just saw a press release that Swift now has a sleep apnea testing and treatment program.

So I would "assume" they will hire a sleep apnea driver. Even if they do not hire you... contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Sleep apnea is a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Refusing to hire someone only because they have sleep apnea is a violation of federal law. I would be more than happy to talk you through the complaint filing procedures having been there done that before..

Good Luck

i should have updated this a while ago, but i've been with swift now for 9 months. they hired me with my sleep apnea without a problem. all i had to do was show them a letter from my doctor. they even hardwired a converter in my truck for me. i had to buy the inverter though.

if you have sleep apnea the doc is required by law to tell the dot and you will be disqualified untill you have a sleep study done and prove you are being treated
