also .....
Those chains(stores) that attempt to get drivers to return their towels
to the fuel desk.

DO NOT TOLERATE THAT BS !!
Tell "them" to retrieve the towel from that nasty floor if they want it.
Its a Health Issue pot they dare not stir
If they press the issue, request the Mgr. Take said Mgr to the shower.
Unroll acouple feet of TP and wipe a wet spot on the floor, that dirt smudge will slam their mouth into "crawfishin overdrive"

Personally I always ask for 2 extra towels at every shower.

I carry a can of Kil 'em All for those showers when I have to use them. Not sure what it kills exactly, but it has a long list of things on the side of the can(Clorox based). Though those fumes will probably get me too.

As far as the employee's go, I know I wouldn't want to have to manage that sort of ordeal. While the $8 an hour range isn't much, it is a start if you are hungry & if the turn over is such, that employee may be able to negotiate a higher rate of pay faster than other places.

Hi, do you have a link and / or more details on that?
My hubby used to get free showers, until the company changed where they refuel, and now both showers and wifi have to be paid for.
I don't expect there are any tax breaks on wifi, but the $8.50 for each shower soon adds up.

Thanks!

Anything you buy for use on the truck to conduct your buiseness is refundable. Even for co. drivers.

U use the computer to look for loads or check the weather, using wifi or an air card, is deductable..
I deducted showers i had to buy last year, cell phone, air car, new laptop i had bought,, all deductable.

Best thing find aN accountant who knows the trucking industry. Scew those comeraicl tax prep people like H & R, and the other name brand
So you mean to tell me, where you hubby fuels up at, those places don;t offer a free shower after 50 or 75 gallons?
Thats about the norm in the industry.

The company seems to be messing around a bit with where they want him to fuel. They used to always fuel at the J, so he had showers and wifi, no problem. No they mostly refuel at company yards, and now and again at Petro, but not anywhere enough to have 'loyalty' for the freebies.
For the first time EVER, he has had to pay for J wifi access. Boy is he mad!!
