Microsoft releases 6 patches for flaws

Microsoft releases 6 patches for flaws
October 10, 2006
Quote:
SEATTLE - Microsoft Corp. on Tuesday released six patches to fix software flaws that carry its highest threat rating, including three for defects that attackers were already trying to exploit.
The company said all six of the critical flaws could allow an attacker to obtain some access to other people's computers.
The Redmond software maker also released four other patches to fix vulnerabilities that the company deemed less severe.

Australia Re: Microsoft releases 6 patches for flaws

Maybe it's my imagination on the release and downloading of Security Updates for IE - no - it's not imagination! The last time I downloaded a set of updates, my computer went strange - IE locking up, system crashing - brings back memories of 95 and ME - no wonder I ended up with a chrome dome!
Any ?'s on the puter - an older unit - it's an IBM Server - 1gig /250mb ram /2x20gig drive/75% free space. so no questions on its ability to run my applications - just a damn shame one can't eliminate IE all together from the system - now running Firefox thanks to info from KC - no more IE!
PS - maybe the Arabian Show Horses I raised in Australia helped with the chrome dome - if they were the cause - well worth having!

Re: Microsoft releases 6 patches for flaws

Firefox 2 is looking pretty stable so far. I'll stick with that for now.
