Electronic log book

DOT does recognize DDL. It is legal in all 50 states.

 

It may recognize it, but as far as I know there is no formal approval process. Show me where this is documented by the DOT. I'm very curious

 

They don't need one, as long as the "program" is properly formatted and supplies the minimum information needed.

The DOT has recognized DDL (and other "electronic" log-book programs) and allowed their use by drivers for over 15 years.
They issued a "Guidance" several years ago.

well I think if you can make log books easier and help keep your paper work in order, lie on the road can be fun.

 

I have a iPhone (3GS) and I use iddl's log book program. Once I got a handle on how to use it, I swear I would never want to go back to paper. Keeps a current account of hours and I have not had a problem yet with it.

 

Man i just saw that app last night on you tube and it is AWESOME! It look so easy and looks to be effortless and quick. Great, now i gotta buy a iPhone...........Can't wait really.....

If anyone wants to check it out go to you tube and put in: OTR APP iphone and they also have another called truckers app that has all info with road conditions/construction issues/truck stop info around the country and more info specifically for the otr driver.

 

I am looking for a good free app for Driod or computer that i can keep my Daily logs on.. any suggestions?

None of this stuff is free... The Iddl app I use is $9.95 a month. It's saved my ### more then once! To be able to instantly back-log and/or do some other creative "time accounting" is something to behold. I love handing my phone over to the cop! It's like black magic...hahaha!!
