After 6 years of driving local, Im about to go back over the road. My only concern is that I am a video game junky. I was wondering what is the best method for getting online access for multiplayer gaming and streaming netflix?
I have an older xbox and would need the wifi hook up or a new xbox with the internal wifi. whats the best way to get the fastest speed?

If your going OTR you won't have time for games. LOL
Nycmex77 Thanks this. -
I can hear the laughter now- Your truck's parked in the truckstop. Drivers are walking by on the way to the C-store- your cab's rocking back and forth wildly. You're shouting "OH HELL YEAH ! TAKE THAT !! "HIT IT, HIT IT, YEAH, BABY- WOO HOO, BOOYAH !"
When everyone realizes your girlfriend's not in the truck with you it's going to get even funnier.....Southpaw7391, Nycmex77 and MilwaukeeTrucker Thank this. -
won't last 5 mins on gaming servers due to the lag time.

Your just asking for frustration. Connection problems and lag will make "live" playing bad enough you want to pull your hair out

I have an Andriod phone through Verizon. I can use it as a hotspot. I tried it at home already and it worked great. Unfortunately they have limited new subscribers to 2gigs each month. At an hour of gaming a day on something like Black Ops, my game of choice, you would more than double the gigs and would run you something like 180 bucks a month.
I am lucky and have been grandfathered in to having unlimited gigs per month so I can online game, netflix, whatever, totally unlimited. Woohoo. I dont know what other cell plans are out there but there should be some that offer unlimited. -
Plus, Verizon has been throwing around the unlimited term for over 5 years with an asterik and small note that says up to 5g
Your still gonna have problems out here with signal...
I'm running great at this very moment on Sprint 3G with my iPad, but the signal ain't worth a crap on my Verizon iPhone. Tomorrow may be no problems further on down the road with either service... Or it may be the other, or even both are slow. -
give up the box dude get a psp the road will tear up the tv and box.
-
I use Verizon MiFi 2200. I think I'm paying $50/month, 5gb
I've played a lot of online games with it, world of warcraft, first-person-shooters, ect. Usually downloads video without pausing. I've had one occasion where I didn't have any service including phone, in Alabama.
5gb can go fast though. I honestly wouldn't plan on Netflix. 1 - 1.5gb per movie. Truck stop WiFi is usually as slow as can be. -
http://m.sprint.com/mobile/shop/mifi_4082.html the reviews for the most part seem pretty good on this. On the last page of the review section there's a dude on there that he said he ran his xbox off it. I didn't research the plans on it but I will after I post this. I start school on the 17th and I need my xbox for battlefield 3. So I'm gonna research this more in hopes it really works. Hope this helps.
