That's not neccessary. Even with a negative draw, the batteries will recover quickly. You use alot of juice just cranking the starter. I've ran the microwave 15 minutes before and not hurt a thing. Low voltage would kick in before any of that would happen.

Condo, I hate to disagree (OK as a driver you KNOW that ain't the truth:biggrin_25525:) but I am very voltage conscious. When running my 700W microwave with the main engine running on high idle, the voltage stays from 13.2-13.8 depending on the time of year, and other loads, laptop, cooler etc. If I only have it on low idle the voltage drops to the low 12's. I never nuke anything for more than 5 minutes, but I would think that at 15 minutes with the engine off like you said, you would be pulling the batteries way down, which is hard on the starting type batteries and then shortens their life, and also makes the APU work harder/longer to recharge them, which shortens it's alternators life, at least for a TriPac. Having deep cycle type batteries would be good for this kind of load situation, but I don't have them.

Looking for a machine to brew the kcups but need to run on the standard 12v-10amp service as I'm not an otr driver but also don't want to stop at every convenience store to get a hot cup of coffee.

Take your kcup or whatever it's called, rip off the tin foil cover, dump the contents into a cup of hot water, stir.

Enjoy your over priced instant coffee.

I just used a basic Mr Coffee off a inverter. Makes a gallon in a couple pots relatively fast. 12 dollars.

Just don't be on bad roads when brewing. Or slosh it when braking or shifting.
