My dad travels a lot and tried several different carriers and found none with better coverage than Verizon. I have been with Verizon for a very long time. I have had billing problems, but they normally work well with you over the phone (people who have gone into the stores has had worse experience with support).

The two largest carriers are Verizon and AT&T. The others are not going to have as reliable service and coverage. As stated by some others, it really depends on where you are going to be operating. If you are going to be traveling the 48, then Verizon or AT&T are the best. Before trucking, I was an email support person and we supported Blackberries, DROIDs and iPhones from about 800 people. Most (90+%) were on AT&T and Verizon. We had 5 times as many support calls from AT&T customers than we did from Verizon customers.

I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan from Verizon, so I will never leave Verizon until the companies return to unlimited data plans. The 4G LTE on Verizon beats the others for speed (I have had reliability issues)--it even beat my high speed Comcast account at home.

:O_o_1PIRATES31:There are areas without coverage, plenty of them "out west". So no carrier has complete coverage.Everywhere. Currently I have Sprint, which has very good service.

Independent tests have shown ATT to have the most reliable nationwide coverage. Google it. Been with them almost a decade and happy overall.

I have both Sprint and Verizon. Verizon for my personal phone and Sprint for our two-way/phone dispatch in the truck. Sprint is a joke, nationwide coverage if they want it. We had Verizon commercial service for two months, I could drive from Denver to Bozeman and back and only lost service between Montana state line and Hardin and just West of Columbus. With Sprint, I loose coverage between Ft. Collins and Cheyenne, as well as from Chugwater to Evansville, and from Casper N. to just before Billings. Very little if any Sprint coverage in the Mtn's of Colorado. I've driven from Durango to Montrose on 550 and used my cell almost the entire distance, while the Sprint showed No Service for most of it.

    highly untrue

my trainer had att for phone service and wireless, i had verizon for phone service and wireless we both had smart phones and tablets, verizon was bar none far superior, i had to turn on my 3g for him countless times because he did not have any signal, i checked too to make sure he wasn't just mooching off me.

you pay a little more for verizon, i also had sprint during otr and like i said verizon has been far superior

I have had AT&T, Verizon (Current), Sprint, Nextel and T-Mobile. The only one I have renewed a contract with so far is Verizon. They are not the cheapest by any means but their service has been the best, hands down, no doubt about it. The few times I have not had service where it said I should have I called and complained they offered an apology, said they would have a tech look into the service discrepancy and offered me a partial bill credit.

I had Sprint and it was lousy in both customer service and coverage. I currentlly have Verizon. IMO Verizon has the best coverage of the Cell Phone companies. Verizon has excellent coverage here in the west, but like the other companies have areas they don't service.
