GPS is another tool to keep in your toolbox, if you know how to use it you will be better off than you would be not having one.

At the risk of getting infraction points again, here it is...

PC Miler is coming with a standalone GPS unit on Dec/01/2008.
Truck routes, 53' trailer, height and bridge restrictions, hazmat...
    $350

    Cheers

I wasn't sure if that was allowed, but I guess it is :biggrin_255:

Anyway, I posted a picture last time and got 10 infraction points for the effort (I didn't realize that it was considered advertising). I really enjoy coming here, so I didn't wanna risk getting banned by posting that picture again.

    Cheers

P.S. I don't work for ALK, have nothing to gain from them selling this GPS....Only reason I posted this is information. If you know that a respected company, such as PC Miler, is coming to the market with a product that trucking community wants, maybe some members of the community will not rush, and buy something that will be inferior to a real truckers GPS

Passing info like that through PM's is perfectly acceptable, and the mods are always willing to help. Unfortunately, all the spammers have made things more difficult.

I bookmarked the Goodyear GY500X and will look at the PC Miler gps too. I have been using gps since '04 and have to say that it has to be backed up with good maps. There is no denying that it makes life a lot easier, just don't rely on it 100%!

You might want to check out the WorldNav 3300 Commercial Truck Routing
    GPS System.

Has anyone seen any GOOD reviews on Worldnav? Everyone Ive seen has been bad unless they have gotten the bugs worked out on it recently.

I got the copilot truck laptop 11 from ALK Technologies.works great.they also have software for gps units, smartphones etc that use a 1 gig memory card.easy to use
It uses PC Miler to calcutate routes for you. This is info from my own personal use. I don't have any affiliation with alk. just giving my $.02 on a product i use
