There is a new Garmin Dezi coming out this winter wait for it. It is like a Rand Mcnally 7" but better. I currently have a Garmin 465t that you can find at any truck stop. MAKE SURE TO UPDATE THE MAPS ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A lot of people never update their gps maps and complain when it isn't perfect. My maps are updated and my GPS is NEVER WRONG! In Canada, some hick town with dirt roads, the Garmin is still correct!

The Worldnav GPS is the best in my opinion. They have them at teletype.com and also have a good description on how that GPS works on YouTube.

I found an app called Truck Routes that is only costing me $45 a year... it uses Google Maps so I can see a satalite view of both shipper and reciever so I know what to expect when I get there. It gives you 5 choices of routes... Truck Quickest, Truck Shortest, Truck Prefer Freeway, Car Quickest and Car Shortest.

Overdrive magazine had a great write up on it a few months back. I think it is only available for Android right now though.

Stay away from Rand Mcnally 510, absolute waste of money.

The one that YOU like the best. Any of the truck units will work fine so it really comes down to whichever until you like best. Go someplace where you can play with all of them and spend an hour or two getting a feel for which software/interface/screen presentation that you like best.

So many zip codes are not available, you cannot program them in.

Truck stops are spotty, when they say one is in a area it is not but just a gas station.

Routes are not always truck routes even when you have it programmed for truck only routes.

Power cord on my 510 became hot, would not charge the GPS and ended up purchasing a 12 dollar Energizer multi use power cord.

Product support absolutely sucks, may have well purchased a off shore GPS.

I do not rely on a GPS but for the money you spend on one it ought to be more accurate than what you get.
