I use a program called TruckMiles. It was written just for truck drivers. Pretty expensive program but it has saved me alot of time. Hook a GPS to your laptop and it will give you turn by turn instructions.

Well....the people @ ALK made good on their promise.....not only did they send me a new data disk....they sent me the whole package....install disk too. Still working the kinks out....will tell more in a week or so, after I learn how to use it. I will tell you this much....if you want to know where the truckstops are....this will tell you.....tells where the chicken coops are too.....and rest areas.....if they make a couple of improvements....they'll keep me for good... More soon....

He will be lucky to get paid for the miles he drove right up to the time he was fired. (Which was when he called his boss)

yes there are gps out there for trucks, example co piolt truck 9, with that being said, use it as a tool, not a cruch, and never try to use it or look at it when you are rolling pull over (safely), and check the routes with the good old atlas, now it is great to find where you are at if somehow you get lost or need to get emergancy help to you, the down side is you need a laptop (and I would sugest a laptop stand) to run it, you can find it for 250-299 (gps reciver come with it), the 199 version is only software, so if you buy it make sure it's the version that you want, it's the same thing that I'm going to pick up to help me out
