Cobra released a new dashcam model CDR 810 but I can't find any detailed info on it's recording capabilities. Anyone know where I can download the specification sheet or manual? They are being sold at the petro in bordentown for $119.

Gambled and purchased the Cobra Professional Grade Dash Cam last week. This is my first dash camera and it's already paid for itself.

Easy "lock" button to save video while driving in case you come upon an accident. This is everything I was looking for in a camera. Love's Truck Stop had them on sale for $99.99, but never had them on display. I found out about the camera by accident and love it.

Con: Instructions are quite vague, but it's easy to figure out how to operate the camera. Night vision not all that great unless you want to spend $3,000.

Pros: EVERYTHING including 1080i video clarity, g-sensor, motion sensor, small unit about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Nobody knows they're being recorded.

I also use this camera for surveillance at home to keep tabs on new renters.

    BEST THING:

This camera can see through the rain and this is a huge plus in a semi. I mounted the camera in my line of vision to help detect drivers driving without lights in pouring rain.

    WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I would think this would be considered invasion of Privacy.

Invasion of privacy? How is protecting you high dollar tractor with potential six figure plus value loads an "invasion of privacy"?

If that's the case then every camera mounted in a public place outside used for property protection and surveillance is illegal. I park my truck on a private lot outside with neighbors I suspect have once already vandalized my semi.

It's called modern American, protect your property, and cover your tail.

And for your information since you're concerned about privacy in a public setting, let me advise the fact I have new neighbors that rent in a country setting where we all know each other. These new neighbors/renters have made open statements that they do not like my truck sitting across the street. They also have 3 adults and 4 children living in a 2 bedroom small house. They go out of their way to attempt to block my parking space. The very last thing I need in an industry that prides itself on screwing the Driver is someone vandalizing my equipment and load in turn interfering with my paycheck. This could also delay critical freight shipments, et cetera, et cetera.

    Rethink your statement.

I read your post as, that you hide these in your renters houses as surveillance, and I'm sure the other guy did too.

Seriously!? Maybe I should draw a picture of a dash camera mounted to the windshield of a semi. Would that help? Shaking my head in disbelief...

Calm down slim, I'm not the one who called you out, I was stating how I interpreted it, I knew it was probably a mistake, so I sat back.

"I also use this camera for surveillance at home to keep tabs on new renters."

Without anymore background information the above statement has to be taken at face value.

Use this camera at home - Your house, your rules.

Tab on new renters - Some people do rent their house or or even a room to help ends meet.

So, a take on this would be to the reader that you have renters in your house and you keep tabs on them with the Dash Cam.

But, in reality, when you park your truck your dash cam in the truck is on to keep tabs on your truck on a private lot, since you feel your neighbors might be doing damage to your truck.

You knew what you wrote, others who read including myself this simple statement drew a conclusion other than what you meant.
