Anyone know of a truck stereo shop, or CB shop that is pretty strong in truck stereos? In particular, someone maybe between Newton, KS and Allentown, PA, or perhaps anywhere between Columbus, OH and Boston, MA, or Between Amarillo and St. Louis, or in the Dallas area. I rarely get anywhere near the Iowa 80. I've seen some radios in a few TA's but not the one I'm looking for.
I prefer to deal with a smaller shop as opposed to a truck dealership. I'm looking to upgrade a basic freightliner radio to one with bluetooth (iPhone music) and integrated XM
I know I could find one on Amazon but I want to make sure the harness works and it would be good if someone would professionally get the XM antenna up high somewhere and wired to the radio
Thanks.

Install it yourself.
The adapter you want is for a VW, but I would wire the radio directly to battery power with it's own fuse.
Don't forget the speaker upgrade. MY 6.5" Rockford Fosgates sound really good with my Alpine 488.I forgot the bring along my power wire for my sub. I'll have to connect it when I get home. -
I bet you could get a regular Car Stereo Place to Install it anyway.

They might install it but I don't want to put a "car radio" in a truck. They won't take the abuse and probably wouldn't have the right harness without special ordering. I want a delphi OEM radio or maybe this Jensen http://bigrigstereo.com/jhd3630btb.html
I'm ok with factory speakers so long as they're not busted or sound particularly bad. I don't need or care for a lot of volume or bass.wore out Thanks this. -
My Alpine head unit and XM tuner was bought a decade ago and has a million miles on it. It's just a "car" stereo though.
TGUNKEL Thanks this. -
All these years I put "car radios" in my truck. Who knew?
STexan just pick out the unit you want and put it in. You probably don't even need a CD player. Those are so last century. USB and Bluetooth, HD AM/FM & 1/8" phono plug is all you need.
My present Sony "car" radio has been hanging from the ceiling for almost 10 years and CD player still works.
So does my all my other "car" stereo stuff - 8 JBL and Polk speaker w/tweeters in the cab and 2 12" Kicker subs under the bunk and 3 amps I installed myself back in 1996.TGUNKEL Thanks this. -
Never seen anyone "request" a Jensen by name before.
It does look like a nice radio though.
I got a JVC car model, hangs in and out of the holder, seems to be working fine though.
I guess I am not as rough on it as the Texan is. -
Us Texans are rough on everything. I go through audio cables like crazy

I didn't know Jensen was still around. I have a pioneer BT9200 that works great. Bought the wiring harness from www.bigrigstereo.com so far the same harness has worked in a 07 T600 07 Columbia and now the 13 T800.

I mainly don' like the tiny buttons and text displays on many car radios. Too much movement in a truck trying to push a little button on a radio an arm's length away in the header. Plus I want to makes sure it is an easy swap out and matches the OEM radio in terms of fit and installation
