This one is my third.... (DELL lap top)
my first one had a 4 g HD..it was top-o-line when I bought it LOL
The ONLY downside with this one is I have to buy a new Broadband card, cause DELL has changed the PCMCIA card slot

Check pricewatch.com....and compare the price of a DELL computer with.....a Compac? <shudder>
For $701, what I got was already discounted $300 before I started. I got it even cheaper than the "NEW" (discontinued) models on EBay. I paid $500 LESS than what resellers on EBay were asking for an identical lap top. All I had to do was to buy it as a "small business" rather than as an individual and promise not to "re-sell" it (on EBay or other on-line resale spot).
Oh, by-the-way, got an email today....lap top shipped yesterday. I should get it tomorrow or monday.
Not bad....5 days to build it, 3 to 5 days shipping.
