OK guys go easy, I am not electronically inclined. I just bought a 560 dezl and have some questions.
    1. What should I list for max axle weight? I assume 17 tons(34K lbs) is correct?
    2. Vehicle length, hmm. I haven't seen the truck I will be driving yet, it will be a Prostar pulling a hazmat chemical tanker. I assume a 230-235" wheelbase, but have no idea on trailer length, kingpin or 5th wheel settings yet. What is a good number to use until I measure it? 68 feet? And how tall is a Prostar midroof? 12'?
    3. "Do I want to avoid traffic?". What are they getting at here? Is this something to do with the HM setting?

I probably won't have my own truck to mount it in for a couple of weeks so Im gonna play with it in my car for the next 2 days before orientation is why Im asking. If you have any tips on setting it up let's hear them.
    Thanks!

Thanks damutt. I can't break it up into 12\34\34 though. It just lists one category-"max axle weight". The max I will carry on one axle group is 34K, so that's what I put. I searched and saw where someone else entered 7.5 tons for the value. Am I on right track?
    Thanks

I would not recommend SHORTEST route, FASTEST route will be more practical in most cases for truckers (unless you drive for TMC and need to drive through corn fields to keep your OOR numbers down to get the higher percentage pay next month)

Nice jab there Texan. think of that one all on your own did you, or did you need a swift driver to help you out.

WTH are you talking about? No jab. The OP said "Shortest" and I'm saying shortest is wrong in most cases and should rather choose "fastest". And I'm being serious about TMC and their OOR numbers make drivers take routes that they might not ordinarily take. Been there, done that. Not a slam on TMC, in fact they have a good points system to establish percentage pay number.

Very well, I took that as a jab towards TMC. OOR isnt all that bad to deal with TMC really. My trainer and I get instances to make less OOR miles but stick with the faster of the two. If its only going to benefit us by a couple of miles and not benefit us on time, its pointless. OOR is a huge cost for transport companies.
