I'm really liking my new job as an O/O, but I'm finding the trip logging (what roads I take, how many miles, each state, how much fuel I purchase, etc etc) to be overwhelming. It's bad enough for me, that I'm thinking of going back to a company that does that part for me.

Is there anything that I can get that will log, by state, how many miles I drove, what roads I drove on and maybe dates for me? At this point in time, I'm probably willing to spend a little bit in order to get a solution that will do this crap for me. It's really killing my enjoyment of the entire job...

I use teletrac. Google it, it's worth every penny. I had same issue.

do you need to miles. or the highways also?

2 companies i worked for only wanted the miles. another also wanted the highways. but if all you need is the miles. there are voice recording apps. i've always recorded the state and odometer reading. then used the calculator app at the end of each trip.

truck gps units will also record your miles.

Garmin Dezl does everything the op is asking. I just download mine each quarter. Its a huge time and hassle saver.

Believe all you need is the mileage. Weird that you'd be required to show the exact route, I've never heard of that before.

Yes, the company I'm leased to requires, by state, routes taken and miles on those routes, along with gallons purchased, but that's easy enough.
I just need something that I can easily pull my route and miles, by state, off of.

    I'll give teletrac a look.

Try Microsoft Streets and Trips too (for PC). With the right hardware you can get it to track you, just not overly sure about recording. However, imho you are thinking over the top...:D. Just plug in you origin and destination on Google maps and go by that.

That's what I have been doing, but it's causing me an unnatural amount of stress... :/

S&T provides the mileage at every turn, route change and state crossing in the Directions. It just takes a little arithmetic to flesh it out.

It, of course, also provides every pertinent detail of the routing, in both text and map forms. I saved every trip I ran naming it the company assigned Trip Number. S&T made completing trip envelopes a breeze.

I used the function in Driver's Daily Log driversdailylog.com to track my fuel and mpg.
