I'm kicking around the idea of picking up a retired long haul truck to turn into an RV. Being a bit of an electrophile, I was thinking of doing a custom electronic dash. By far the easiest way to do it will be via the now standard J1939 conection.
I am wondering how far back I can go and still be reasonable sure that I'd have a ECM that broadcasts J1939?

groo, find the brand you like .... then call a dealership for that brand....talk to the service manager and he should be able to tell you or where to find out...
