So when I listen to my tv, I run an audio cord to the auxillary port on my stereo. But when the truck is running, there is a buzzing noise through my speakers. Even when my blinker is on, it will chirp through the speakers. It only happens on the aux part of the radio. There's no feed back when it's on the XM band, regular radio band, USB band etc... and when the truck is running.
I've heard of alternator feedback. I'm guessing this must be what is going on but I am not sure why. I just put the new stereo in. The old one had the same thing but not near as bad. Once sound started coming through, it would eliminate the buzz. But now, the sound won't really mask the buzz.
Appreciate any input on what could be causing this issue and possible ways to remedy it.
If it matters, 2000 T2000 with an N14.
Thanks.

It's a ground loop. If you're using your phone as an audio device, you get the noise when the charger is plugged in, but not when you're running from the phone battery.
I use one of these, and it knocks that right out:

when I plug my phone or laptop into auxiliary port. it buzzes pretty bad. with the invertor on. truck don't need to be running. invertor turned off sound works great.

Thanks though. -
If the truck is not running there is no feedback at all. If the radio is on any other setting, there is no feedback. -
Might want to try a different cable, your cable might have a bad shield in it, or it is picking up noise generated by the electrical system in the truck when the truck is running.
Also possible is your TV is picking up noise from the power supply and porting it out the audio port when the truck is running. These things can be buggers to trouble-shoot.... -
I was just using a phone for an example. That's the exact problem I was having with my phone.
It doesn't matter what the device is; as long as both it and the stereo are powered by the same source (the truck), you are subject to a ground loop. -
a single source ground from the stereo to the chasis should fix that also

Are you using the round stereo type input jack you find on some of the radios, or a USB port?
Sometimes if it's the headphone looking jack, if you rotate the plug a little, the feedback lessens, or goes away. -
I've had this issue running an audio cable to my truck from my laptop. It was due to it being hooked up to the inverter. I was told that a pure sine inverter will fix the issue.
