K8000 DashCam Review:Full HD 1080p

The K8000 is a reliable Full HD 1080p dashcam. The 140 degree field of vision camera delivers respectable video quality and the mic does an excellent job of recording sound from inside the vehicle.

The K8000 comes with the usual standard features like auto record, a g-sensor with multiple sensitivity settings, motion detection and a 4x zoom controlled with the arrow buttons.

If you're looking for good night quality video...keep looking. The K8000 is not a very good low light camera. There are other cameras in the $50 price range that are superior low light performers.

Another shortcoming is the camera mount supplied with the K8000, it requires frequent adjustments due to road bumps and vibrations.

Conclusion: If you frequently drive at night I don't recommend this dashcam - the nighttime quality just isn't there. However, if that's not a consideration then the K8000 pairs good daytime video with excellent sound quality for around $50. As of mid September 2014, the camera has lasted 7 months in a variety of vehicles and working conditions.
