When I was otr an app called "allstays truck and travel" was what I used. It's expensive but worth every penny.
I highly recommend it.
Here's some screen shots if they'll upload

You just click on a truck stop and it tells you everything. What restaurant they have, how many showers, parking spaces, gps coordinates, how far you are from it. Everything.

I have an android but most apps are designed for both. Iphones are for artists, Android is for thinkers.
Google Maps live traffic is number one!
Then in no particular order:
accuweather
emails
mp3 player
camscanner
RPN calculator
calendar
TruckSmart (TA/Petro app)
Transflo mobile scanning
a couple news links
Roboform for remembering passwords
Move! bike computer for tracking my walking exercise miles
Facebook
Bank app
astro file manager
my verizon
U-Verse
quick office
PDA Net
Audible (for audio books)
Podcatcher
And Google Chrome Browser -
Are you asking just truck related apps or apps in general?
Trucking related apps:
Weather underground - weather
FillUp - fuel and DEF mileage tracking
TripLog - load and mileage tracking
Google Sheets - spreadsheet to track mileage and payroll
Chicago Traffic Tracker - brings up a map with traffic shown. It also works anyplace not just Chicago.
Of course there isn't any traffic this Sunday morning.
Tapatalk - to view and participate in this very forum and other forums I belong.
Transflo - bill scanning should I need to scan a bill right away (I normally use the Transflo kiosk at the truckstop).
Lunar Phase - to alert me of a full moon and to expect traffic to behave more stupid than usual.
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
Fuelbook
Drive BC
Environment Canada
NOAA
Google Map
DAT
Flying J Pilot
Petro TA -
But the most helpful is:
Scanner Pro -
Then there's Map My Ride to keep track of my bicycle rides.
-
thank you for the tips

Responding to Ebola guys question
Yes, mainly apps that are designed with comercial truckers in mind, also apps not intended for truckers but are useful.
Also Ebola guy, you say you use google sheets, do you prefer that over apples spread sheet app numbers ?
