What is your opinion? I'm going to buy a Dashcam next week, I almost have my mind made up on the Garmin, but I see Cobra also makes one too. The Roadpro is completely out, I won't buy any of their junk. So out of the products they have right now, which one would you buy, or if you have tested them out, which one was the most dependable to you? Thanks!

I use the cobra, I also added a 32 gig SD card to it from verizon. Capture lots of video with it. I run it on 720p. Great quality video easy to use interface.

Dieselboss.com has one that gets excellent reviews and is very affordable. Don, aka Dieselboss is a member of this forum and a real pleasure to deal with. See his comparison reviews on YouTube I believe.
I run a Garmin and it serves the purpose. Solidly built.

I bought mine from dashcamusa.com Bill was a great guy to deal with. It seems fairly simple to use and I am all thumbs when it comes to electronics. I added a 32gb SD card to mine for longer recording times, but even when set at the highest resolution you cannot read license plates very well. Mine did save me when I was brake checked in California since I could show CHP what happened. You might have seen the recording when you watched my movies I made from Alaska.

Next question. Where is the best place to place it? I was thinking behind the driver's seat so everyone can appreciate the back of my head, but thought better of it.

In the Volvo 780 I had it top center on the windshield. In the 379 and 389 I stuck it in the upper left corner in the passenger windshield.

I've had the Garmin for about a month now, used my points to get it at the Pilot.
Nothing has happened in front of me to save and look at.
I can put the SIM card in my laptop to look at the quality, looks real good. Just like the guy that got brake checked in the dessert.
