Truck Stop Laptop Repair/service/help?

Is there a market for someone who can fix laptops at truck stops? I am speaking mostly virus and software related screwups. If you are on the road and you have an issue where do you turn?
Most software issues can be resolved onsite at the truck stop. Hardware repairs are not so easy.
Just wondering how this is handled.

Cool

Yes there is a market.

Unfortunately it is being served at this time, by the usual low life money grabbers that hang around the truck stops.

Trucker = dummy= money

I'm not saying these people do not know what they are doing, I'm saying they charge 4 prices for simple work, and 5 prices for refurbished laptops.

A simple check online will net you a brand new laptop. Where as, you can buy a laptop at/in a truckstop for the same price...that is over 4 years old and runs on Win98 or WinXP with only 128 meg of ram.

Sadly, our industry is aging. And with that we are getting people who are interested in having a laptop. But, have no clue as to the actual cost of one from a reputable dealer. They also have no clue as to what they need. So they get sold a POS every time in a truckstop.

I spend a lot of time assisting drivers, when they allow me to, for free.

I do all my own repairs as far as software/virus issues are. If my laptop is under warranty, I ship it off to a DELL service center. There is about a 3 day turnaround for service with DELL.
After warranty, I purchase used/recon parts online and repair the laptop myself.
