100% Microsoft's fault? No, but a pretty good portion of it.

I was up in Mass today, routed a trip back to NJ using ST&T '07. I wanted the cheapest route, IE: NO TOLLS!!! It routed me away from all toll "roads" but not all toll BRIDGES!!!

$72 later and I am friggin broke.

    Thanks Microsoft. [IMG]

I never use it. I found it confusing and not reliable. Instead, I use Google maps - free. It's never made me travel a non-truck road BUT it doesn't take out the toll roads BUT it does tell you which roads have tolls so you can reroute easily enough ON THE MAP when you're planning your route.

Well I wanted CoPilot Truck, but it is not compatible on 64bit Vista machines. However, I have thought about wiping out my copy of Vista and installing XP, so that wouldn't be a problem. There were a lot of features of ProMiles XF that I liked except for the $900 price tag. Shame too, cause I was ready to buy it.

sure it is compatable. Run the MS Compatibility Wizard in vista and downgrade the video options a little bit until it runs on your system.

I got it to run fine on my toshiba laptop by reverting to the XP sp2 conditions.

Well, I will either try that or just install my XP Professional I have at home and not have to worry about these little Vista querks that have been bugging me since I bought this new laptop 2 weeks ago.

I am using Delorme's Street Atlas USA 2008. It isn't perfect, but I also don't run the N.E. if I can help it.

I am beginning to think that is a simple solution as well.

There was a guy up in PA selling copies of it along with CoPilot too for $20.
I really hate to wipe Vista off my new Laptop, but I can't keep it if it wants to keep powering off my Wireless card and prevent me from printing my logs cause it doesn't keep recognizing my printer and asks me to re-install it. I bought this laptop 2 weeks ago with 1 gb of RAM and it was slower than my 5 year old PIII Laptop. So, I ordered 4gb of RAM and it has been much, much better...just too many little glitches. Heck, Vista on my home PC lasted only 24 hours before I reformated it with XP. Might as well keep it in the family.
