i want to install a 20 inch flat screen tv in my truck has anyone ever done this?If so do you have any pictures or could explain to me how you did it

Most electronic type stores will sell a mounting kit that makes it pretty simple to mount the tv to a wall. I'd suggest buying one of these kits instead of trying to monkey rig it somehow (go go gadget duct tape!). Or do you mean how to wire it in?

What you may want to look into is going to a high end stereo Install shop and talking to the install personell there to see what they may think is the best installation for your truck. That and they may suggest having some type of vibration isolation ie: (dynamat) or something of the likes to supress some of if not all of the road vibrations felt by your truck. IT may cost a bit but if you want to prolong the life or your Flat Screen TV I strongly suggest it. I plan on doing the same myself once i get some Xtra scratch.

there is vertical metal structure behind the interior panels. you will probably have to unscrew a panel and pull it out to see where the metal structure is. then get a mounting kit for the flat screen and drill into the metal ribs and run some self tapping bolts in it. then hang the tv. there is a lock screw on the back of these wall mounts that keep it locked into the channel. I would suggest using lock tight on it. Also I have seen some mounts where the tv bracket could slide right off the end since there was no built in stops. If you get one like that I would find some way to keep it from sliding of. just a few zip ties around the rail through a mounting hole will keep it from vibrating of

you may have to either make some custom bracketing or have a car stereo shop make some custom brackets for your T.V. installation dependent upon where and at what angle you want to mount it. If anything go to a "Quality" car stereo shop near you and ask for some advice form the installers. it shouldn't cos tyou anything to talkt o them and bounce a few of your ideas off of them. they may have a fairly inexpensive and safe way of mounting your flat screen that you can do yourself. If the shop is worth their salt so to speak; they will be willing to talk to you and explain a few things to you about the installation as well. hope this helps.

OK. Coming from a KW T2000 perspective. On the side walls where the top bunk comes down, there is a metal bracket. you can use this space to do your mount.

Get a piece of 3/8 board (sized big enough to hold all of the mounting plate)and mount your mounting brackets to that. Find where you would be able to see it comfortably and mark where the bolts are at on the wall support from the top bunk. Drill a hole big enough so that the support bolts will go thru the mounting board. Mount the board and reattach the support for the top bunk.

Make sure you can still lower the top bunk as to not interfere with your screen placement, if you don't plan on lowering it then never mind. Attach your monitor and hook up any necessary wiring.

I have used the already mounted bolts from the support and placed my mounting board behind that support and have never had any shaking or problems to date. My feet even fit under it while covered with no problems. Also saved me the costly price of a custom install, only cause that is how my friends truck was done from the fellows at Best Buy. I have a 19 inch in my columbia. I just used plenty of small bungies. Has stayed put even since I put it in months ago. It can be done easily if you want to be creative.

I have a 19'' flat screen panasonic installed in my columbia everything came from walmart. i used the swinging bracket for the 19'' as well. Cost for the bracket is around $70. I also have a satelite dish for satelite tv. The reson why i chose this particular tv is it that it has a hdmi hook up for my playstation3. However after having it in the truck over 6 months. I now have a short in the on an off button because of all the vibrations I must currently watch tv or play games with the truck not moving or idling. I am in the process of searching for new ideas as well otherwise i will have to do surgery on the flat screen wich could result in death of a great tv.

I have had mine fir atleast 6 months and no problems. I didn't use the bar or a mount. I have it bungied from the back into the TV area. And it sits at an angle on a piece of styrophom(sp?) to help reduce vibrations. I can do what ever when its idling. but I never do anything while rolling down the road.. If only there was a way to play the 360 and drive at the same time.....lol without killing anyone that is..
