    I can tell you for sure NY they are a big no no. However if you have a valid ham radio license you'll be fine.. Though NY might still get a little pissy with you about one.

    I Use a BCD996T it has several neat features and can hook up to a gps and if programmed correctly will select and deselect radio systems based on location, also a good antenna for the truck is the comtelco NMO and NMO Mirror mount from scannermaster.com

    Right you are about knowing state laws Because running a scanner in some states will cost you. But there is a way around that..It is called a Ham License. Because we do public service. All states have way for hams to get around the scanner rules. Besides all the ham gear I have scans. some scans the HF bands and some scans vhf or uhf bands. get a ham license and when you get stopped you have a license. But until you get a ham license be very careful running a scanner mobile. states to watch your self in with a scanner
    KY, NY, MN and I think VA
