How do you "hack" a land line? If you're referring to a standard home phone, you don't "hack" it in any way. You intercept it. If you're referring to ethernet, it's easy to listen to other computers' traffic if you're on the same hub, but a switch will send that data to that computer only, and to intercept data on a switched network you'll need to somehow become the man in the middle, just like a telephone line.

One of the companies that got hacked was sending customer information, including credit card info on an "open" system in the clear. All the cash registers were send the info by an "open" wi-fi to a central PC. Once the info was at the PC it was encrypted and sent over a land line.

Look, anything can be hacked with time and money...................

You hack using a land line by using Trojan, port sniffers and several other methods.. that how you "hack" in on a land line.. A land line i am referring to is using a land line like DSL or Cable Internet not a home network as you think I am talking about. hacking can simply be referring to bypassing security to gain infomation and not necessarily taking control.. i am not sure what you definition of hacking is under you explanation..

Trojans, packet sniffers, etc, can be used on wired or wireless networks. If you want to "hack" a wired connection as you do a wireless, you'd have to tap into the line itself and... do things. I dunno, I've never had a need to do it, so I don't know details, but it can be done. Except on a fiber line, those can't be tapped like that. IMO, one of the best hacking tools there is, is still social engineering. Manipulating people.

Never said that you can't use a Trojan or sniffer on just a land line, No kidding it can be used to do both.. Your Definition of "hack" is a physical wire tapping, I now understand what your trying to say.. Not really "hack" but tapping into a land line under your definition.. Hacking can be done 4000 miles away, and one does not have to "physically" hack into a line as you suggest the meaning hack means, If I put a Trojan into your computer from my house right now I would be attempting to hack your home computer...
