Country Dan Dixon Fans- look here
Here is a link to the article about the petition to keep Country Dan on the air. So far these ladies have collected over 3,000 signatures. What's really frustrating is the fact that they just hired someone for the Siriusly Sinatra Channel. Now comon- you are going to tell us that you cant afford to keep our country DJ, but you can afford a DJ for a station that hosts obsolete music and plays it 24/7?

For those who may not know Dan, he was every trucker's friend, nightly on XM Channel 10 America. He did an all request show and talked to everyone who called in and played requests. As truck drivers, we work in an environment that makes it all too clear that no one cares about our time, paychecks, or feelings. That's why we have so much love for Dan. Dan's show was the equivalent of sitting down in front of a warm fire with a hot cup of cocoa and swapping stories with an old dear friend. We have spent many nights "truckin' with Country Dan" and we are mourning the loss of our
riding buddy.

I'm sure he is thankful for all your support.
As a former "broadcaster" myself. Let me tell you now, it will do no good with less than a couple million signatures. Even that may not be enough if ratings do not reflect the listenership. Yes...XM does reflect in the ratings.
I live less than 5 miles from the historic "Mouth of the South".
A 50KW powerhouse of a AM station that could be heard coast to coast in it's heyday.
It now plays oldtime southern gospel from sunrise to sunset.

Actually, Dan's show was very popular. However, many of his fans are still unaware of what happened because Sirius gagged everyone. Gotta love corporate america *eyeroll*

Powers that be at Sirius has requested that we stop asking for Country Dan back because it is jamming their phone lines and email,
but they still refuse to acknowledge that someone didn't do their homework before eliminating Country Dan's show and job. Sirius stated that they surveyed 30,000 listeners to come up with the current lineup. (I sure didn't get a phone call and everyone else we talked to said they weren't asked either.)
Then to add insult to injury, someone at Sirius who shall remain nameless to protect their stupidity- brazenly told us that everyone is bluffing and listeners will not cancel their subscriptions because of the loss of channel 10 and Country Dan.
I love challenges! It took me 10 seconds to dial the phone and 20 mins of arguing to cancel two subscriptions.
I gather at this point the only language they choose to understand is MONEY, so I gave them what they wanted.

Country Dan was the best friend all us truckers had and a shamefull sin that they axed him. I never was even made aware that they were going to cut the channel but cut they did without asking one truck driver what the best show we had was?????? May santa put coal in your stocking this year and you know who you are........Tim & Karen

When Channel 10 America was on, my radio stayed on that channel all the time. Now I'm continually searching the dial for something I want to listen to, not a bunch of 'cookie cutter' ####. Willie's not bad but not everybody is from Texas, Outlaw Country's not too bad but it gets pretty far out sometimes. Roadhouse just plays the same old, same old, ad nauseum, no imagination... Bring back Country Dan!

Any drivers who happen to stop at Willie Nelson's truckstop- “Willie's Place” truck stop in Carl's Corner, Texas- give a big thanks to Willie Nelson. He is responsible for Country Dan Dixon's return to Sirrius/XM. The email address is info@willienelson.com
