There are 2 RCA type plugs in the bottom of the antenna, unscrew them. You will get a light in the keyboard letting you know it has lost its signal. anything you do will log in and out of the system as a system failure in dispatch with a error code telling them what failed. Covering the antenna simply shows the loss of signal, not a failure. same as a bridge or building.

As far as running load to there exsisting customer under your own authority, I guess thats up to your own moral values. Im not sure if you have your own authority, Tractor and trailer why you leasing to another company. I would be going after my own accounts, your all set to go.

Did you know it still tracks the miles you drove from the time you disconnected it and connected it and they can get a good idea what you did and why you did what you did.
Many companies have zero tolerance for tampering with the qualcom. Remember one day when it's disconnected you may need help and won't be able to go through the process to connect it. Be carefull guys/ladies:biggrin_25510:

You don't need to do all that...just unscrew it at the dome. It will still show you are located where you unscrewed it.... however when you put it back on your miles and driving time will sent to the company..... unless you disconncted your odomoter from your transmission too. If you return to the location where you unscrewed it you'll proabably get away with it... but if you pop up at a location far away it's probably going to set off bells or color coded alerts. Removing the ground screw and killing the power still doesn't bother the new ones. The have internal batteries and still log whatever you are doing if it's plugged into your truck computer.

I suspect there is a reason they are difficult to trick or edit. The logs can be edited (except for driving time) but driving time can be edited by the company. I think it's a fellony to submit a false log and that would probably apply to tampering with any electronic loging device. I doubt you would have a problem for turning it off when you were off duty or sleeping ....but it may be your burden of proof to show you weren't driving.

Your best bet may be to call your company and ask them to shut it off so you could use your truck for personal reasons. Tell them you sold your automobile to make the down payment for the truck and you have no other way to get around.

If you own your tractor/trailer outright, why even worry about the Qcomm? Unplug it, take it off the truck, hand it to the bossman with a note saying you found a place that'll actually pay you what you're worth.

    2fuzy Thanks this.
