Yes, the Updater program is used to update the redlight camera database. Here is the basic process:

    1. First you have to register your unit for the AURA downloads. You must register it <HERE>. You only need to register it once.
    2. After you have registered it, the Updater program and instructions are located <HERE>.

We have definitely had updates. Even if there were no new updates the Updater program should still connect and download.

Okay, got my dvd upgraqde and it went perfect. Didn't have any problems.

    Still my one main question;

Why does the gps randomly tell me to stay left (meaning don't take the up coming exit). If I am on the correct road then the only thing I should hear/see next is the next turn/exit I need to take. I might understand if it was a major interstate change but all the little exits very random. I just don't get it. Now in all fairness my car Garmin does it too but much less often. I understand if it is what it it is, but I would love to understand why at least.

From what I recall it has to do with the map data. When the mapping company records map data they not only store GPS coordinates, they also store a bunch of other data. They store markers for splits, exits, and a host of other stuff. Depending on the marker, the nav unit may decide to remind you to "stay left". It is not necessarily because of an upcoming exit, it might be for some other reason.

I understand your concern. It can be annoying to hear such unnecessary instructions. I will consult with our engineers on Monday to get a better explanation.

I am finding the terminals for Swift even with the correct street address will not come up. East Brooks Drive doesn't exist in the street list for Memphis. Yet look up Swift and it lists the correct address. The termimnal in Lancaster TX is the same way.

At the intersection of I-64 and I-65 in Kentucky BB told me to turn left to go South. There was no way to do that! It didn't appear that the interchange was new. A truck stop I was coming to was on the left according to BB. It was on the right.

I guess I could try and run a log of things. I will have a laptop in the near future to keep things up dated.

BB crapped out on me in Albany GA. This week. Totally locked up. I could put in any address and no music and voice telling me how to proceed. I would drive and nothing happened. Called and the tech had me restore the factory settings. He told me he was going to send me an update. I just got one and installed it 3 weeks ago, there's a new one already?

I was going to Exxon in Port Allen LA last week. I drove right past the plant. Looked over and wondered if that was where I needed to go :biggrin_25523: I did see a Swift truck there! She routed me to an empty field that wasn't even on highway 1! Turned out where I saw that truck was where I needed to be.

I entered the address off a fuel receipt in Eden NC for a truck stop to pick up an empty trailer. It routed me to an empty field several miles away. The truck stop is in Stokesdale. Eagle Express 2301 US220, zip 27357.

One thing good was I delivered to Georgia Pacific in Bowling Green KY friday night. Fog was really thick! My driver instructions on the Qualcom said "go to the end of the road and it is on the right." I might have been driving for hours!

I entered to go to the T/A off I-65 that night and didn't realize it was behind me. She routed me to an exit and wanted me to turn around. Is there an indicator which direction the T/S's are? One problem is the T/S's aren't listed by exit. So while rolling down the road I have chosen "along my route" and it shows me places that are 35 miles out of the way or behind me. The Garmin shows you in the listing which direction they are before you chose them with arrows.

when I was leaving the Walmart distribution center in Hopkinsville KY every 600ft or so BB kept telling me to go left. It kept going on for the longest time until I finally shut it off. I believe it was 10st Airborne Parkway. I had the address saved and lost all my favorites when I reset to the factory settings.

BTW BB is my name for B1tch in a Box.:biggrin_25525:

What's up with the weird pronunciation of the street names?

I love it when she tells me when possible make ooooturn!

This thread is why I am keeping the Cobra. Now how about the traffic updates? Speed limits on the road you are traveling on? Other GPS's have them for the same price as the Cobra.

Please see my comments below. The map update that is being mailed to you will help.

I had no problem entering those addresses.

Please provide the starting city and the destination city so that we can take a look.

There is a mapping error with this location, which will be corrected on a future map release.

I will have our engineers investigate.
