I'll be going back over the road, with this new digital system for televisions, I wanted to know what I will need to get reception on my television in the truck. I do have a new digital television.

Want good, reliable reception? Get a satellite setup. I too have a digital tv and bought one of those digital antennas from wally world and unless your in a major city, forget about over the air tv. Even in major citiies, there are problems. Ex. Dallas. Programmed the tv and had over 35 channels. Only half of them could be seen, depending on the time of day, where your parked, who's parked next to you, etc.

If you have a satellite system at home they will only charge you an additional $5 a month for a receiver in the truck . If you don't have it at home a family member may be willing to add you . Then you just have to buy the dish .

can't you add something on the dish net work? or one of the net works, that will let you use your home setup on the road?
kind of like if you have it at home and have a vac. home at the beach you can turn it on ther for like 10.00 or so extra.

dmag, yes you can. Don't have sat on my truck but will next month. According to my sister, I'll have to by the dish and the rcvr but she'll pay the $5 to put me on her system. Going to be a sweet deal for me since as a rep, she's getting comped svc and has everything on her package. Yea for me!!!!
Stackeddeck, bill will depend on who you go with and what package you get.

Sure but you'd have to watch what I'm watching unless you have your own box. Guess I'd could also think about getting a projector and screen and setting that up. lol

Yes........but DON'T TELL THEM (DirectTV) that you have your "second box" in your truck. They will want to charge you for a whole second subscription.
