CSA 2010 is designed to federalize the trucking industry under the guise of "safety". As a former safety coordinator for a major government contractor, I can tell you that, without a doubt, this is what is being done. In Iraq, the federal government first brought in American drivers to haul supplies for the US military. Once the routes were deemed reasonably safe, the corporations contracted to do this job, with government oversight, began to bring in foreign contractors (pakistanis, turks, indians and kurds) to replace the American drivers and make the corporation in question a massive amount of money. The corporation involved still charged the same rate to the American Taxpayer, but supplied drivers that could not meet US standards. It ONLY became a problem when it began to cost lives. This is EXACTLY what will happen here because of CSA 2010. The drivers that are restricted from driving are NOT necessarily unsafe, but they have one thing that new drivers lack, experience. Companies have painted themselves into a corner with minimal profit margins and promising increased pay for "experienced drivers" and since the American public does not want to pay the inflated cost of goods due to increased fuel costs and dollar devaluation, the ONLY place left for companies to cut their expenses is in drivers pay. In order to that on a grand scale without being sued, the big companies "assisted" DOT in devising a way to decrease the experienced driver pool without consequence. Did you see any large company stand against CSA 2010? no, you didn't and the other main reason for this is because they understood what it would do to their competition... GREED, my fellow drivers, has destroyed us all...

Thank you for your comment.Mostly everyone knows, including me that there's more to it.I've heard alot,I don't believe it's to only do with safety, that's my opinon. My husband's been a driver for 25 years. When they changed the way you log,he had to redo his a couple of times till he figured it out,and that was put on his report when they audited the company.Well there was a couple of minor, very minor violations, that any driver will at anytime will experience. And a 5peeding ticket, not that fast though,he was stopped because he was a truck driver. There was four wheelers going the same speed if not faster, and the officer said,i'm not worried about those ---- fourwheelers,I was after you. They can do pretty much what they want, and we no that. But it's a shame, that americans get treated that way by there on people. My husband is not a unsafe driver Now he can't get a job for two years and we have a daughter.,And don't know how we're going to survice, neither one of us don't have the education for much else, our daughter needs things I don't know how we're going to get. That was our livelyhood, but who cares right.Like you said GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and teams be careful, any violations from that truck goes on both drivers..this is not right why should the one driver in the sleeper be responsible for the co-drivers actions...

    That's wrong,and thanks,I didn't know that.Then,I wouldn't want a co-driver then.How did you find that out?
