Coming back to drive.

Its been 6 years since I have been in a truck and yes I have to start over due to me letting my CDL go, big mistake on my part. I drove for 2 other companys I will not mention names. One has a school and one was a lease purchase program. So I have made a decision to go with FFE. I know your going to hear bad things about any company you go with, I know this. I am going to their new school in Ft. Worth and looking forward to it. If your thinking of going to a truck driving school like FFE or anywhere else due your research and don't look just at the negative but the positive of the company. If you never drove a truck before dont think your going to become BILLY BIG RIG over night, you have to pay your dues. Look at it from my point I was out of a job for over 2 years. I tried starting my own company which a nothing to due with trucking, and went out of business in 09. I got everything in order now to go back to driving. I have thought long and hard about going back to driving, which I suggest to any new driver. I suggest to any new driver get all your paper work together and go to your Doctor and get a physical before going to a company. This is because you dont want to waste your time and get there and failing the physical. I suggest if you where in college or going to school get your transcripts for the time you where there, they will need that for employment varification.

Now for all the negative talk about dispatch. I failed to mention that I work as a dispatcher for one of those companys for awhile. Dispatching trucks is like a big chest game. They are not out to get you, they will and can not make you run illegally. if you ever get a chance go sit in on dispatch, it will make you appreciate your job and theirs.

Will that is it for now keep the dirty side down and truck it up................

I will never understand why other drivers let the negative opinions from others dictate which companies that they should work for. With that out of the way, you sure do have much experience as far as working as a dispatcher and running your own business! Not many people can say that they have done that. I have much respect for you.

I have discovered that most of the people out there complaining are the ones that complain about everything any way and they turn down all the loads they get then are mad cause they have no miles. I am like you and want to find out everything about what controls my income. My wife and I have our own truck and team drive. We make a good living and I try to teach other o/o how to buy fuel/state fuel taxes/ living on the road happy, and to make the best money with what you have. I also help the company drivers understand how to have a great career. So often it is poor me, well, poor me needs to get an attitude check. If you want to find the truth about something, ask the ones that are in a hurry to go not the ones setting around complaining.

Hi There.. well... I am considering going to FFEs cdl school now.. and I can certainly understand why someone would listen to negative opinions. There are so many horror stories out there that a new driver better consider at least some of them true and act accordingly. Play maker.. I would love to hear whether or not you are still happy with FFE.

I have heard a few unhappy stories... was nice to hear of one that is happy...
