The broken record syndrome is getting tough to deal with. I occupy myself by picking a city and doing trip plan then log it.
Near the end of the day I realized I had been failing to document a 25 mile load/safety check. At this point I still have a hard time grasping the idea of driving 25 miles then stopping.
I made up two long runs. 1 from Dallas to Boise, ID, driving for Big A, delivering a load of potato seeds for McD Corporation..
My second run was from Dallas to Newberry, IN. Driving for Hugh Jass Haulers. The Dept of Agriculture had me going to this farm town to deliver a shipment of Mexican Harvesters. {Hey, I gotta make my own fun here.}
Ray went to the doc so a range instructor filled in. Dennis had a bit more commanding presence. He spoke loud, strong & fluid; didn't fumble his words or have to think too much about what he had to say.
He added that he hates the term "trucker. We are professional CDL drivers."
Dennis has spent his career doing super-heavy hauling. He said he spent years working Canadian & Alaskan oil fields & ice road trucking. All he had to say about that is "that it is NOT like the TV show."
Go do good work!
