Today was fairly uneventful. We began the day with our usual hour long bull session. Was just me, another guy and Robert. My rommie bailed as soon as we got there.

The other guy practiced his backing while Robert and I talked about the biz and Rob's spin on teaching. Says the reason he's so rough is because he's taught long enough he can instantly spot when the driver's mind is drifting. So, Robert gives em hell. He said that gets their attention better than anything. Just saying, "Watch the road" don't cut it. They instantly argue "I am."

So Rob gives em hell, that "gets their mind back in the truck." They start focusing on HIM and they can prove to him that they CAN drive right, makes em re-focus.

Once everyone showed up, we talked more. The guys that are to test have to be at the DMV early to set an appointment. They call Robert to let them know they're there, etc. We all loaded up and headed that way. I drove Robert. Just the two of us, it was a pretty good ride. We talked nonsense and I was pretty well at ease most of the way. The other guys followed us in their truck.

When we got there, they weren't testing until 2 pm; we had a few hours to kill. Because, you know, more practice is just a waste of fuel. So we walked over to BK and sat there for nearly another hour. Then we went back to the range. I dunno where the other truck went. Rob & I talked shop for nearly another hour then he let me go on home. (My side job was calling looking for a driver [limo.])

No school on Monday. Oh, but I did learn something about the school, Fred, the trainer, is a cousin of the owner. So it IS a family atmosphere.
