Schneider - vacation for beginners

A week ago my orientation week was completed with Schneider. Tuesday I was to meet with my training engineer (TE) to begin my on road training. I got 30 minutes from the house when he called to inform me of his brother's death and had to cancel on me. He said someone would be getting in touch with me soon.

Wednesday I called our student training adviser to ask if I needed to wait patiently or if I needed to be in contact with someone. He didn't return my call. So I called my drive instructor and he told me to try a different extension. I got someone who transferred me to payroll who transferred me to my DBL (Driver Business Leader, like a fleet manager) who I left a message with and also did not return my call.

Finally, yesterday afternoon my new TE contacted me to let me know we'd be heading out on Thursday. Not too many jobs start out with a two week vacation.

To make matters more interesting, my TE is a female. So I respectfully declined and told her I needed to have a male TE out of respect for my wife.... she had made it very clear it'd be a cold day in the fiery pits of Hades before she'd be OK with me spending two weeks alone with another woman.

I guess Satan's getting pretty chilly. Because as soon as I got off the phone with the TE my wife said I should call her back and accept because I really needed to get my training over with and that lady sounded a bit butch anyway.

Our Sunday school teacher says "If you wanna make God laugh just tell him your plans." It seems God is testing my wife on nearly everything she said she'd never put up with. She best learn to never say never. LOL

In the meantime, at least I get to be here for Halloween with the kids.

It sounds like you have a good attitude and a very understanding wife. Blessings come from many sources! I agree with you, God has a great sense of humor. I start orientation with Werner on Monday, I hope that my orientation and training goes smoothly.
