Okay I admit I love to cook, I know a lot of people say that and yeah some even mean it. But really truly I love to cook. I enjoy the smells when I am in the kitchen. I enjoy the feel of the veggies when I am slicing them, the beautiful colors and textures of them always amaze me. But I think the most enjoyable thing about cooking is the love I am showing to the people I will be serving the food to. I enjoy watching others eating my creations, even if they are simple meals at times. I would love to be able to have more people in my kitchen when I am cooking, but it is small and so they trickle in and out sampling the food as they walk thru. There is pleasure in knowing that I have pleased everyone with a home cooked meal, that they have had their fill and that they are all just snoring away right now with full bellies. Yes there are times when I would rather be taken out to dinner and not have to do the work of cooking and cleaning, but they don't ask for that, they ask for me to cook. That there in and of its self is a blessing.

I had been a bit of a crab this past weekend, sometimes when someone you love is going away for any amount of time it is easier to say good bye when upset then it is to watch them go with tears in your eyes. I know this is no excuse but it is true in my case and yes I will own up to that for myself. He said one wrong word and I took it upon myself to blow that word way out there into space, wrong yes I know. But I do say I am sorry and I usually follow it up with food. Call it a woman thing or what you will but there is peace on the home front when there is a big trifle bowl full of homemade banana pudding...

And no I don't even like bananas
