You're going to be driving for the next 11 hours, you're going to get hungry at some point. So, being the type of driver that plans well, you considered your schedule last night when you parked at Walmart and bought your weekly groceries. You smart driver you! You grabbed an assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables to save money, and spent a little time readying them. Either you opted for more expensive pre-cut choices to save time (and rinsed anything that was in syrup and stored it in an reusable container), or you purchased fresh fruits and veggies. Fresh takes more time to peel, slice, seed, pit, core, and bag. Once your fruit and veggies are all sliced up, deposit reasonable portions into reusable containers or ziplock baggies. Place these baggies into your cooler within easy reach for accessability while driving, and try to place a variety of fruits and veggies in each bag to change up flavors, textures, and sweetness. So the next time you're hungry for a snack, reach for a baggie of your favorite mix! Do you like fruit leather or more of a jerky texture? Invest in a dehydrator and when you're on hone time, make yourself some dried fruit and veggies to snack on!
