Schneider - In the Hot Seat

My DBL informed me we now have to abide by the P/U window on our list. I asked if the load planners or customer sets that. Customer. I called BS on that on count that it will waste 2-3 hours of my day because I will deliver that long ahead of delivery window; I'll spend that much time waiting. He agreed and said he was fighting on that account.
However; last night I'll have to give a slight pass, begrudgingly. The trailer I picked up had two faulty lights. (Thanks, guy who dropped it.) So, I had to call in and let support know I would have to go to the OC for repair. He asked if I could just get another trailer from the customer.
"Well, I doubt they want to empty this trailer and load it on to another."
"Oh yeah, you're loaded. I knew that. Well, I don't want you to risk getting pulled over. Call emergency maintenance before you you anywhere."
So SEM says, "So what if you get pulled over? You'll just get a 'fix it' ticket. Let them know you've already reported it and are en route to a service center. I'm not spending $250 on a service call for a light. Besides, they won't even repair the top one because they don't carry ladders."
Recently they PMd my truck. I requested a check up on my a/c. Besides make it worse, I dunno what they did. Now my rig is an oven by day and a sauna by night. They left me a professionally prepared excuse. It's really cute. It begins with "It can only do so much!!"
Apparently the a/c system is so complex that it is helpful if we can tell the mechanics what the problem is and when it occurs. (no kidding? Mechanics need to know that stuff? I thought they were wizards who just knew these things.)
What's worse is they say the system can only moderate temps to about 15° cooler than outside air. "So if it's 100° outside the lowest you can expect is 85° our so inside the cab." I wonder if Freightliner agrees. I can hear their service dept now, "Yeah, a/c just ain't what it used to be. We quit making them get comfortable because the EPA just makes it ridiculously expensive. So just appreciate the fact that it's not quiet the same as the outside air."
For those unaware, Texas is not only so humid it's crazy, but it's already topping 100° with around 110° index.
Meh!
