Why do we always grab for the shiny things?

Why do we see our worst fears come true? Here I left a steady job(with low pay) driving local, to go to CPC logistics(another local job for Walgreens), knowing(and was warned by the recruiter) that the people running the show think they are God.All I saw were the dollar signs, and a chance to get away from my tyrannical,slave driving boss after 5 years. Thursday, I got a call from the recruiter that The bosses at walgreens were upset becuase I missed making a late call by 12 minutes.Then later I'm told that a store complained,then even later I'm told more stores complained.I am a very customer service type of guy.I worked in that field before trucking.Now today(Friday) I'm told that I'm suspended(which bascially is a death sentence) pending an investigation.jeez, what a snowball melting in Hell. why do we always think the grass is greener?Jeez I got a house, car and bills to pay! ( Yeah I know things are tough all over,I'm not the only one, but dammit boy,Why did I chance it for a few more hundred bucks a week.

Does anybody know a good trucking company the will hire a 15 years experienced driver,in Las Vegas, thats got decent home time ?More than just a 24 hr restart?and pys about $750 take home. Jeez I knew better,so Why do we always grab for the shiny things?

Sounds like you're going to have to make a hard choice. With the economy in the state that it's in, lots of people are having to relax their demands a little in order to pay the bills and keep the house and car. What you're looking at is probably going OTR and resigning yourself to being away from home for a few weeks at a time. If you don't, there may not be a 'home' to go back to.

I do hope that you find that local job that you're looking for, but the reality is that in a slow economy, we have to do what we have to do.

You should also tender your resignation immediately to avoid having on your record that you were terminated.

yeah,thats exactly where I am.I already through out a campiagn of applications to all the locals worth a spit here.I'm giving them about a week to respond, if I dont hear nothing, then it will be OTR(again) but then its finding th right OTR company to go with.Fortunately, its starting the peak Christmas season,so thre will be some freight,at least until January.Thanks for responing.
